Darren Sigesmund

Darren Sigesmund's music exudes flare and colour, intelligence and craftiness. His compositions are tuneful, Latin-shaded jazz influenced by classical, Chilean and Argentinian traditions. Sigesmund is an ambitious jazz composer and trombonist whose latest creations have led his ensembles around the world and onto the JUNO Award nomination card. Since 2003 he has assembled Canada's hottest players for the stage while arranging standards with a modern dance kick and providing a timbre and texture to his music that has made him one of the best of contemporary jazz musicians in Canada today.
