Simon Fisk

Led by double bassist Simon Fisk, the Simon Fisk Trio presents contemporary jazz with avant-garde, folk, art rock, noise, and electronic influences. Fisk’s bass playing has led him across Canada and to many parts of the USA, as well as to performances in Glasgow, Scotland and Frankfurt before pursuing his own musical directions and composition. Since then, his bass-led trio has released two CDs to great acclaim and was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for outstanding jazz recording in 2003. The trio is known for all original material with a strong songwriting sensibility. The Simon Fisk Trio has also recorded for CBC Radio numerous times, and their music can be heard on jazz radio throughout the world.
